Selection Of Bending Machine Clamps

As we all know, the final bending accuracy of the bending machine depends  on  whether  there  is  the  best:  bending  equipment,  bending mold system,  bending  material,  and operator  proficiency. The  bending machine  mold system includes  bending  molds,  mold clamping systems and compensation systems. Classification by clamping method:

1. Manual  clamping  clamp: It  is  an  economical  clamp  suitable  for bending machines that do not frequently change molds. Operators are required to manually lock each splint. For example, the manual clamping system with a clamping pin structure developed by WILA can provide a consistent   clamping    force   throughout    the   entire    working   length, eliminating the need for debugging after each mold section is clamped. It has automatic seating and automatic calibration mechanisms, allowing the mold to be accurately centered and seated2.

2. Automatic clamp(Quick clamp): Based on the “single point operation” concept, only one button is needed to clamp and loosen the mold, which is suitable for bending machines with frequent and rapid mold changes. The  power  sources  of  automatic  clamping  systems  include  electricity, hydraulic and pneumatic2.

3. Hydraulic clamp: Equipped with a hydraulic oil pipe of the same length as the bending machine. After the pressure hydraulic oil is introduced, the oil pipe expands to push the hardened clamping pin to clamp the mold. The positioning reference plane is unified, the dimensional accuracy is high, the load-bearing capacity is large, and it can effectively compensate for the accumulated errors in machine processing.

4. Pneumatic  clamp:  Air  pressure  pushes  the  piston  rod to  move so that the clamping pin extends out of the clamping mold. In addition to the accuracy and durability of the hydraulic clamping system, it also has the advantages of clean, simple, convenient, fast and economical. It has a  self-locking  mechanism  and  can  use  conventional  compressed  air power in the workshop.
